About

From the founder
I started Evergreen Legacy Films because of a simple, uncomfortable truth: almost everything our ancestors knew is already gone. Not the dates — those we can look up. What's gone is the way they talked, what made them laugh, what they were afraid of, what they were proudest of, the reasons behind the decisions that shaped our whole family. Somewhere back there is a person whose choices made your life possible, and nobody alive can tell you what their voice sounded like.
That loss wasn't anybody's fault. There was no way to record it, or no one thought to, or there was always going to be more time. But we don't have that excuse anymore. We are the first generations in history who can sit our parents and grandparents down and simply keep them — their voice, their face, their stories, in their own words — for everyone who comes after us.
What I keep running into is how quickly the window closes. Families reach out because something changed: a diagnosis, a fall, a move into assisted living, a birthday that suddenly felt significant. Almost every time, they say some version of the same thing — I wish we had done this sooner. I have never once heard someone say they wish they'd waited.
So that's the work. I sit down with your mother, your father, your grandparents. I ask the questions that are hard to ask as a son or a daughter. I listen, and I take the time to do it right — good cameras, good sound, good light, and no rushing. Then I build it into a film your family will actually want to watch, and will still be watching long after that person is gone.
This isn't about producing something slick. It's about making sure that in fifty years, a kid in your family can hear their great-grandmother tell her own story in her own voice. Every family deserves that. We just have to capture it while we still can.

Our mission
A family tree tells you that someone existed. A legacy film tells you who they were.
The film is built to be kept, re-watched, and handed down — not posted once and forgotten.
We handle the questions, the equipment, the archive, and the scheduling. You just show up and talk.
Respect, patience, and dignity in the room. We film at their pace, and we never push past what they want to share.
Background
For years, I've built my career around telling real stories on film. Through my production company, Future Fox Media, I've filmed hundreds of interviews for families, businesses, nonprofits, and organizations across the country. Alongside my team at Ampersand, I've also spent over 10 years and 350+ weddings capturing real, unposed emotion, which is the same authenticity I bring to every family story. The part I've always loved most is the interview itself: helping someone feel comfortable enough to forget about the cameras and simply tell their story.
Evergreen Legacy Films grew from the belief that family stories deserve that same level of care. I use professional cinema cameras, lighting, and audio, but the equipment stays in the background. The goal is a natural conversation captured beautifully and preserved for generations.
Every film is recorded with multiple cameras, professional audio, controlled lighting, and careful color grading. Family photos and keepsakes can also be digitized and woven into the film, creating something that feels less like an interview and more like a piece of family history.

Someday, hearing their voice and listening to them tell these stories in their own words may become one of your family's most treasured possessions. Let's preserve it while we still can.
